Trish (shop owner) recently gave birth to baby Beckett, so please forgive our irregular store hours as we settle into being a new family! Currently our Bloomfield shop will be open on weekends. We look forward to extending our hours when Trish is able to be back in the shop more regularly! Thank you so much for your patience and understanding! x

Making eco-friendly choices has been one of my core values since day one!

I can't tell you how frustrated I get when I purchase something online and it comes in an over-sized box with tons of plastic bubble wrap...grr! I wanted to make sure that when it came to packaging and shipping materials, I did my best to thoroughly research what's out there and make green choices throughout the entire sourcing process.

Here are some of the neat materials we use to wrap, protect & ship our SCANDISKIN webshop products.

Re-usable bottles, jars & tins: The glass jars and aluminum tins we use for our soy candles can be re-purposed at the end of their life-cycle. I use some of my tins from old candles for storing small knick-knacks in my washroom like bobby pins & hair elastics. I have a few that are used in a drawer, keeping my small clutter organized. The amber glass jars that we use with our 8oz soy candles are ideal for holding q-tips, pencils, etc. I use many of my used amber glass jars to hold various candle-making supplies, clips, rubber bands.. you name it! They also make a cute little tea light holder. Fill the jar half full with sand. Place a tealight into the sand and scatter a few small rocks or preserved moss around the outer edges of the jar to add some interest. It creates the prettiest, rustic little desk accessory - especially on dark, grey days.
